Coffee, Tea and Tours

The Culver Family has lived and worked in China for over ten years as quiet missionaries.  They live in the city of Kunming, in Yunnan Province, in Southwest China, making frequent trips to the surrounding mountainous areas where many ethnic minorities live.  They work with local churches to help provide resources for lay training centers and employment opportunities.

As a means of providing good jobs with fair wages, as well as fundraising for their projects, we have introduced "Culver's Collection."  All proceeds will be used for mission among unreached people groups.  We have introduced a line of coffee and tea, and our goal is to find the best and then make it available to you.

Tea has been grown in Yunnan Province for more than a thousand years.  Coffee was introduced to China in the 1950's.  The high altitude, mild climate and rich soil provide the perfect environment for growing both tea and coffee.

While we are presently out of a supply, the Pu'Er tea from this area is of the finest quality.  Unlike the strong, often harsh, bitter earthy flavor of traditional Pu'er tea which is like a walk in a deep forest, this tea is smooth, with a sweet  clean finish. It is like a walk in a new growth woods where wild flowers still infuse the air with fragrance.  We are attempting to obtain a supply from the latest harvest.

Yunnan small Arabica coffee beans are one of the best and most exclusive Arabica coffee species, very much like the ones grown in Columbia.  Both the coffee and tea are hand picked, grown organically and fairly traded.  The raw coffee beans are shipped direct from the plantation to Massachusetts where they are small batched roasted.

Today we are offering 12 ounce bags of "Flying Tiger Coffee" for purchase.  It is a dark roast, full bodied, and strong. Our taste testers have enjoyed this roast.  Some say it is stronger than what they are used to, but delicious, with no bitter or burned taste.

In addition, we are working on developing tours and retreats for your enjoyment.  Please link to that page for the latest information.
